The Haran Gawaita and the Baptism of Hibil Ziwa by E. S Drower. The Haran Gawaita or Inner Haran is a Mandaean text which tells the history of the Mandaeans and their arrival in Iraq as Nasoreans from Jerusalem. According to the Haran Gawaita, John the Baptist was baptized, initiated, and educated by the patron of the doctrine of Nasirutha (“secret knowledge”), Anuš-ʼuthra, the hierophant of the sect. According to Drower, the Mandaeans were one of the earliest key Gnostic sects. Many of the original Nasoraeans became Christians and in Modern Israeli Hebrew the term Notzrim has come to simply mean Christians. Download the ebook here:

The Urantia Papers also know as The Urantia Book or The Fifth Epochal Revelation is a long and very strange book. It is said to be written sometime between 1924 and 1955 somewhere around Chicago. The author is unknown and there are many speculations about how it was written from sleeping mediums to plain materialization. The story itself is quite amusing, Wikipedia has an extended article about it here. The fascinating thing about the book is its precision and details about the life of Jesus and the construction of cosmos. The Urantia Papers consists of more than 2.200 pages. Download it here:

A Course in Miracles also known as ACIM is a self-study book which aims to assist its readers in achieving spiritual transformation. The book describes a non-dualistic philosophy of forgiveness and includes practical lessons. Helen Schucman the book with the help of William Thetford, based on what she called an “inner voice” which she identified as Jesus. ACIM was published first in 1976 and it has been heavily criticized by Christian communities, but supported by authors such as Eckhart Tolle. From page 877:

“The world you see is based on “sacrifice” of oneness. It is a picture of complete disunity and total lack of joining. Around each entity is built a wall so seeming solid that it looks as if what is inside can never reach without, and what is out can never reach and join with what is locked away within the wall. Each part must sacrifice the other part, to keep itself complete. For if they joined each one would lose its own identity, and by their separation are their selves maintained.”

The Miracles of Antichrist is a novel by Selma Lagerlöf. I posted another book by her last week: Christ Legends. The Miracles of Antichrist was first published in Sweden in 1897 and two years later translated to English. The book is the third Selma Lagerlöf wrote. While most of Lagerlöfs writing takes place in her home county of Värmland, Sweden, this one take place in Sicily. Lagerlöf visited Sicily and the story goes that a local legend about a replaced statue of the Christ child inspired her to write The Miracles of Antichrist. Download the book here (400 pages):

If you are not familiar with Selma Lagerlöf you might object to the idea of creating stories about Christ out of the historical context, but Selma does this in an a way that ads to what we know about Christ.
