I am a history major and is very much interested in having a good collection of religious readings. However, the PDF files of Mahabharata vols 8-12 appeared to be corrupted. The same is true to the Holy Quran PDF, hope you can find any solution. As to myself I downloaded the latest version of the Adobe Reader but just the same these files are unreadable. Please help.

Dear Nelson, I have just checked. The files are ok. However, if many people are downloading at the same time, as it happens often here, it might take some time to finish download. Many of the books we have are huge files.
You will always get the best result if you right-click the download link and chose save to harddrive instead of opening the book in your browser. Browser are generally not build for handling 20+ MB pdf files and unfortunately they often crash when performing such tasks.

They work perfectly from here. Please remember that they are huge files. For the best experience, right-click the link and choose save as. Then save the book to your hard drive. Browser are not good at handling large files for online reading.

I hope this helps, otherwise please let me know.
