Ideally many different forms of the work would be part of the journey – you could start with Ouspensky but eventually for the heart to open its work with Mme De Salzman’s work that assists. Ideally gather a couple of friends and start a group – without Group, Ideas and Physical work – the work could get intellectually lopsided.

The “Foundation” in New York, totally bowdlerize his book and abbreviated it by 100 page…changed and left out key word…for example in the AUTHENTIC book copyright 1950…chapter seven. pages 77, 76 and 78 he tells “it is indispensably necessary” for you to contemplate the morning rising sun as you remember your self…as you TELL YOUR UNCONSCIUS TO ASSITS YOU. IN YOUR WORK EFFORTS…SO I STRTED DOIN
G THAT IN 1962. IT WORKS!!!! THE FOUNDATIO BOOK LEFT KEY WORDS OUT…IT IS A TRAVESTY, AND THERE WILL BE KARMIC KONSEQUENCES…

Rewired my brain. Myself and friends thought we could begin a forth way house about 1967, and had so many insights. Been my main preoccupation ever since. I favor John G Bennett’s work to go onward and develop the ‘work’ in ever more intimate and able-to-be-familiarized ways.

All and Everything is the single most influential book in my life. I followed the author’s suggestion and read it three times. The last reading was aloud to a recorder…30 minutes of reading everyday for exactly 100 days. What a trip! Reading this book so completely has changed my world view, softened my outlook on the antics of humankind and helped my be more equanimous. It’s all just impersonal phenomena rolling on…far beyond the scope of our normal understanding.

I encounter Gurdjieff frequently in books, libraries, and literature. I have read and read and read All and Everything and found it defective. I am quite sure that the edition I got on inter-library loan of Beelzebub’s Tales To His Grandson was abridged.
