Buddhas Lists PDF

The Complete Book of Buddhas Lists – Explained is Dr. David N. Snyders approach to Buddhism through the many lists of the Buddha. The author describes their compatibility with scientific methods and principles. Dr. Snyder makes it very clear that Buddhism is not just a dogmatic or mystical religion. He includes a whole chapter on biological evolution and the other chapters keep with this evolutionary theme of going from an ordinary individual to an extra-ordinary Awakened One. This book is written primarily from the Theravada Buddhist tradition, but not limited to that tradition. Theravada means Way of the Elders and is considered the oldest, most orthodox form of Buddhism. Buddha loved to teach and organise his teachings with lists. Many here will be familiar with The Four Noble Truths, but this book will show you many more of Buddhas Lists for instance:

Four Supernormal Truths

1. The understanding of anguish
2. The understanding of the origin of anguish
3. The understanding of the cessation of anguish
4. The understanding of the way to the cessation of anguish

The three made-up acquisitions of self

1. The gross acquisition of a self
2. The mind-made acquisition of a self
3. The formless acquisition of a self
