Sri Aurobindo VOL 3-4 Collected Plays and Stories

Collected Plays and Stories contains all Sri Aurobindo’s original dramatic works and works of prose fiction. The material, which occupies two volumes, is divided by type into three parts: complete plays, incomplete and fragmentary plays, and stories, complete, incomplete and fragmentary. The earliest of the pieces collected here was written in 1891, the lastest in 1915. Only one of them Perseus the deliverer, was published during Sri Aurobindon’s lifetime. The rest have been reproduced from his manuscripts.

Sri Aurobindo Vol. 3-4: Collected Plays and Stories is a compilation of dramatic works and narratives by Sri Aurobindo, a towering figure in Indian philosophy, spirituality, and literature. This collection presents Aurobindo’s literary exploration of human aspirations, divine influences, and the eternal struggle between destiny and free will.

The plays and stories span a range of historical and mythical settings, enriched with profound philosophical reflections and spiritual insights. Aurobindo’s writing combines artistic elegance with intellectual depth, offering a unique window into his vision of human evolution and the transformative potential of consciousness.

In these volumes, readers will encounter themes of heroism, love, sacrifice, and the quest for higher truths. The works not only entertain but also challenge the reader to reflect on life’s deeper meanings and the possibilities of spiritual growth.

This collection is essential for admirers of Indian literature and philosophy, as well as for those seeking to understand Sri Aurobindo’s integration of art, spirituality, and the human experience.
